I like simple titles for shows and also love a pun ! "Relief" is the medium I work in , it generally refers to the woodblock and linoleum printing technique. A design is carved (in relief) into the wood or lino, ink is then rolled over the surface of the lino and all that is not carved prints as an image. I work methodically to produce editions of hand made linoprints and you just thought I pushed a button - right ?
I also get a lot of relief from life's stresses too, by creating work, some would say I'm obsessed, but the side benefits are - constant challenges, spiritual nourishment and a sense of purpose.
