June and July

These months have rushed by punctuated by a couple of trips to the cities of Newcastle and Armidale. I'm working on another large piece - the old petrol station at 426 King street Newtown. This gorgeous Spanish Mission building is in a delapidated state, adorned or scarred by graffiti (depending on your sensibilities) but it still stands elegantly as a tribute to former times when even utilitarian structures had a sense of style .
I am also working on a smaller Petty Cash cafe print which I started so I could take it away with me. Every piece teaches you something or sparks a new idea. With Petty Cash it's given me the idea to do a night time scene in lino because of the dramatic effects of the uncut sky.
Some more of my work is now available through Art Pharmacy. I am also featured in their latest newsletter http://www.artpharmacy.com.au/maggie-stein/?rq=maggie%20stein&utm_source=Art+Pharmacy+-+Main+List&utm_campaign
