Description

The title "Kissing the Earth" is a quote from Rumy, the 12th century Persian poet.

These sandstone rock platforms are all along the coast in the Sydney region.

"Kissing the Earth" pays homage to nature, this creation is my way of loving it.

As I was carving, I was imagining the tiny specs of sand being pushed and pumelled by the wind and water, over time, to eventually form these platforms.

This piece was hand carved and printed in my St Peter's studio, Sydney.

"Kissing the Earth" received an honourable mention in the Michael Beazer Works on Paper Award, held at East Gippsland Gallery, Victoria in 2024.

This print was exhibited in May at the corner Gallery, Stanmore and was shown in Habitat, at Belco Arts Centre, ACT from of May until July, 2025
