Tangle is based on an experience of being in Heathcote National Park, on the outskirts of southern Sydney. It's also a culmination of all my experiences of being in nature. I wanted to capture the dense tangle of vegetation and abundance of smells and sounds of the natural world. I also sought to convey a sense of awe.
When I make these large linoprints, I become fully immersed in the carving and I have a sense of not (counsciously) knowing where I'm going.
The carving is feels like a meditation.
This print is hand coloured with liquid acrrylic ink and posca pens.
Tangle is printed on med weight Hereford paper (UK)
