The Newtown Art Seat is an initiative of Inner West Council. The seat promotes the work of local artists whose work will resonates with the community.
Working with wordsmith Jan Cornall has been a dream, together we came up with a great concept, incorporating my images with her Haiku text. The work is up unitl early June. I'm excited about having an artwork installed in Newtown Artseat at Pride Square, from the 8th of March.
I collaborated with local wordsmith Jan Cornall to create a piece titled "Pictures From Our Floating World". Jan has written some fantastic Haiku to go with my collage of local images. We gained our inspiration from Ukiyo-e movement in Japan which flourished in japan from the 17th to 19th centuries. Ukiyo-e literally means 'pictures of the floating world'. Detail from the work below Hi all
